Mean Streets consists of 4 extremely talented and versatile musicians with decades of experience between them:
Vocalist Matt Concienne as “Diamond Dave” (David Lee Roth) has been called “An Amazing Front Man” & “Powerhouse Vocalist”. Matt is also a talented Guitarist & Drummer. Matt explains his story… He’s been hearing his whole life, “just how much” he “Moved”, Sounded” & “Looked Like” David Lee Roth (DLR)… So many years ago Matt decided to bring his skills to honor Diamond Dave… When Matt shakes his blonde mane, jump kicks on stage or belts out a scream… audience enthusiasm and temperatures are sure to rise… In addition to Matt’s Stellar Vocals, his Dance Moves, Thrusting Antics, and Pant Splitting Jumps, have been described as “So much like DLR”, the experience of “watching him perform” is downright “uncanny”…
Guitarist/Backing Vocalist Roger Stanley as Eddie Van Halen (EVH) is a 30-year veteran of rock bands from the East Coast to the West…. Roger is now wowing crowds in the Southwest with his dexterity & versatility as a guitarist, keyboardist, vocalist and all around sonic guru… It doesn’t take long for the listener to realize just how deeply he has studied EVH’s idiosyncratic and groundbreaking approach to rock guitar, successfully capturing the sound, phrasing and inventiveness that have made Eddie Van Halen one of the worlds most influential rock guitarists.
Drummer/Backing Vocalist
Andy Miller was born and raised in Rochester,New York and has been banging on things since the age of 4. Fortunately, with very supportive parents,he embarked on a musical adventure that led him out west to Los Angeles, California. There, he studied at The Musician’s Institute in Hollywood. Upon graduation,Andy plugged himself into the L.A. music scene and never looked back.
After more than 30 years of recording and Touring the world, Andy relocated to Tucson in 2012 to be close to family. He has been an active member of the Arizona music community ever since. His many projects over the years range from jazz to country to disco, but Andy’s heart is firmly placed in thepower of Rock and Roll.
The stage is where Andy belongs and he’s a big fan of the bombastic style of rock drummers including Peter Criss, Tommy Lee, John Bonham, Neil Peart, Keith Moon, Alex Van Halen,Mike Portnoy, Morgan Rose, Nicko Mcbrain And Danny Carey to name a few…
Andy abuses the following gear…
DW drums and Hardware
Sabian Cymbals
Pro Mark Sticks and
Rockstar energy drinks
Timing is everything…
Just ask a drummer
Rounding out the band is Bassist/Backing Vocalist Peter Gorritz as Michael Anthony. As any true VH fan knows, Michael Anthony was in many ways the band’s “Secret Weapon”; his pristine vocals and rock solid bass playing were what kept the band grounded, allowing Eddie to fly and Dave to soar. In addition to providing the high tenor MA vocals that were a hallmark of the VH sound, Peter is, like MA himself, the utility player of Mean Streets, supplying both the solid foundation and the ability to fill in space in the same way that always made VH sound like a much larger band…
While there are many bands out there that can do a pretty good job of capturing some elements of the Van Halen sound, you would be hard pressed to find another band that captures the thunderous precision of the recordings, the wild abandon of the live shows, the look and the sly humor & sheer showmanship that made the original VH legends in their own time in the same way that Mean Streets does…
It’s a show that simply must be experienced to be believed!
